SecureCo Stratus, our managed delivery network platform, has a key feature that helps reduce attack surface susceptible to scanning, discovery and exploitation. The feature is our patented rendezvous technology, through which connections are established using a method in which the endpoints of communicating parties reach out to a negotiated place in the middle of the network. The important thing here for the attack surface is that the communication ports need not be passively discoverable to establish a connection, since they actively reach out. What this means is typical port scans cannot detect the endpoints protected by SecureCo, making them far less susceptible to reconnaissance and downstream actions in the Cyber Kill Chain. SecureCo protected networks have more time and latitude to administer defensive software patches, since adversaries can’t discover the vulnerable network software to exploit it.
